Kelly Clarkson was an American artist and songwriter who was the America's sweetheart when she was crowned American Idol in the first series. Not only was the win that catapulted Kelly Clarkson's name to the forefront and fortune, but it also secured her an agreement to RCA Records 19 Recordings & 'S Records for a number of albums. In the years since, she's recorded numerous studio albums, including three which topped the US Billboard 200' chart and the rest of her albums just fell short of the top spot. She is among the most well-known artists that are emerging from American Idol. After achieving success, she tried out different themes and music styles often writing her own songs to her own personal experiences. As a tribute to her talent and distinctiveness, she's been rewarded with a variety of accolades as well as awards. In particular, she's won the Grammy Award three times. Alongside her career in music, she has also appeared in movies as well as television programs. She also wrote the book for children River Rose and the Magical Lullaby and has been involved with several charities.
